Omi Masterplan

F:T Architecture was commissioned by The Omi International Arts Center to study its expansion in to 400 acres of ecologically sensitive land.

The vision for the The Fields Sculpture and Architecture Park is to create a fusion of natural and synthetic resources: a sanctuary where the public can experience a diversity of architectural installations spread across a myriad of natural ecosystems and designed landscapes. The result will be a new category of hybrid parkland which melds enlightened ecological conservation practices and avant-guarde landscape constructions. The synthesis of nature, art and architecture will create an ongoing dialogue on the interrelationships connecting nature and culture.

Our plan is to stake out a positive philosophical attitude about Architecture and to foster the fluid nature of the discipline. Architecture will thus be ceremoniously stretched and pulled closer towards the realm of visual arts by inserting it into the unfamiliar context of a sculpture park.
